Applications are invited for a fixed term research associate (post-doctoral researcher) in the CREATE for STEM Institute at Michigan State University. The successful candidate(s) will work in collaboration with the Director of CREATE and faculty in the Colleges of Education, Natural Science, and Engineering to lead National Science Foundation Scaffolding Computational Thinking Through Multilevel Systems Modeling project.

Responsibilities include working in coordination with the director of CREATE and other researchers to apply theoretical ideas on how students learn to design, develop, and test curriculum materials to support students in system models and computational thinking for 6 - 12 science classrooms; developing assessments of student learning; support the design and development of research; develop and implement professional learning experiences with both urban and suburban schools and teachers, which encompass a broad spectrum of socio-economic backgrounds; collect, organize and analyze data; provide management and leadership for assigned project, work with team to plan and write reports, conference papers, and journal articles that disseminate the research, and make presentations at regional and national conferences.

The candidates will collaborate with faculty, post-docs, and graduate students in Michigan State University's CREATE for STEM Institute (http://www.create4stem.msu.edu/).

Required Degree
Doctorate -STEM Education

Minimum Requirements
Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. in STEM or STEM education.

Desired Qualifications
Candidates who hold a Ph.D. in Science Education with a strong background in a science discipline are preferred. Additionally, candidates with curriculum development and project management experience, knowledge of mixed-methods research, and experience in secondary science teaching are highly preferred.
