2016 MSU SoTL Symposium
The “MSU Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Symposium and 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Lilly Teaching Fellows Program,” will take place on March 3, 2016, 4:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. in the MSU Radiology Building Atrium and Auditorium.
The SoTL Symposium will enable MSU faculty, academic staff, post-docs, and graduate students to present their scholarship of teaching and learning. The goal is to feature the scholarship of teaching and learning of our colleagues, to build community around shared interest in SoTL, and to celebrate and make public these important efforts. Attendance is free and open to the MSU community.
The Symposium will also celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Lilly Teaching Fellows Program and showcase examples of SoTL work produced by former and current Lilly Teaching Fellows.
The SoTL Symposium will feature:
· A Poster Session showcasing MSU SoTL researchers;
· A keynote address on “SoTL: Past, Present and Future,” by Dr. Karl Smith, Morse-Alumni Distinguished Teaching Professor, Emeritus Professor of Civil Engineering, University of Minnesota, and Facilitator for the MSU Lilly Teaching Fellows Program from 1990-2003;
· Opportunities to network and interact with MSU SoTL scholars; and
· An interactive space to reflect on SoTL work at MSU and share your hopes for the future of SoTL.
The SoTL Symposium & 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Lilly Teaching Fellows Program is sponsored by the MSU Office of Faculty and Organizational Development, Academic Human Resources, and the Graduate School.
