The MSU Faculty Technology Showcase 2014 will take place on Friday, February 21, 2014. This is the sixth annual event in this series, and is sponsored by the College of Education, the College of Engineering, and IT Services. The purpose of this e-mail is to encourage you to be a presenter at the showcase.
How it works: We begin with a free lunch (for the first 100 participants) in the lobby and lounge areas around room 133 Erickson Hall. Participants who want to show their work will then take their designated spots at computer monitors scattered about in several rooms on the first floor of Erickson Hall. Think poster sessions, but with laptop computers instead of physical posters. Bring your own laptop, and use the monitors provided in the rooms. Lunch starts at 11:30 a.m., and the whole thing ends before1:30 p.m. We encourage anyone who wants to show an application or creative use of technology in their teaching or research to be a demonstrator. We are just now in the set up phase for the event.
This year we are especially encouraging faculty who work with graduate students or graduate assistants on technology intensive research or teaching projects to participate as presenters. This is a great way for you to share your work and to also learn from others.
If you are interested in being a presenter this year, please complete the web form at: http://goo.gl/qxFRG2
We will get back to you with further details. Please consider being a participant, or as a co-participant on a project you run with a colleague. It is only with your and your colleagues' participation that this event can continue to be a success. In the past this has been a fun and collegial gathering that has drawn over 100 attendees, in addition to the presenters, to share ideas.
